What is different about Build Me An App
Made on your phone
Build Me An App is a phone app. You describe what you want by holding the microphone or typing, watch the code get written, and use the result straight away on the same phone. There is no computer, browser tab or editor in the loop. Any app can be added to your Home Screen with its own icon. These shortcuts open web apps; they are not separate store downloads.
One file you can take with you
Every app is a single self-contained HTML file: plain JavaScript and CSS, no frameworks, no external scripts, no third-party services. Choose Download your app from the app menu and the file runs in any browser, with or without Build Me An App. There is nothing to migrate and no platform to be locked into.
Your data stays yours
Entries you keep inside an app are saved on your device first and synced to your account. You can export everything as a JSON file from Settings, and you can delete your account and all of its data at any time. Publishing an app shares a link to the code only; your saved entries are never part of it.
Nothing to set up
There are no API keys to paste in, no database to provision and no hosting to arrange. Sign-in, saving and sync are handled inside the app. Apps work offline and catch up when you reconnect.
What Build Me An App does not do
Being honest about this saves everyone time. If you need any of the following, one of the tools above is a better fit:
- Full websites or multi-page web products with their own domain.
- Your own backend, database or server-side code. Apps made here have no network access of their own; they keep their data through the app's saving bridge.
- Submitting a finished app to the App Store or Google Play under your own developer account. Apps live in Build Me An App and on your Home Screen.
- Team editing. Apps are personal; there is no shared workspace.
Pricing
Creating apps and asking for AI changes needs a Pro plan: $12 a month, or $96 a year (about $8 a month). Everything you have already made stays usable after a plan ends, including download and export. Google Play may round the price in your currency. The Android app is in closed testing on Google Play; the App Store follows.
